Changing Fortunes of Time - 07'
When I consider the unequivocal and limited duration of my life, it takes only an instance to bring to consciousness the embodiment of our eternity. Engulfed in the infinite immensity of spaces of which I am ignorant, I am swallowed with sentience…. contemplative, yet optimistic. We live in a world that has lost much, and are left with the unfortunate observation of a demoralization and dehumanization of society. We have also garnered an obsession with too often striving to achieve for the sake of impressing those around us. However, we have lost sight of fulfilling our lives and those we love, and instead become preoccupied by fulfilling the perceptions of our neighbors. Within this collective sphere of betterment, we accumulate vast amenities and material possessions, but in this pursuit we have absconded from our traditions, our faith and the simplicity of which life was truly meant to be lived. Never have we had so much, yet so much meant so little. The essence of love gives meaning to the mirror that life presents to us in our individual lives, as does our faith in God. These are just two factors of true happiness and inner peace, allowing meaning to our existence. But life also brings with it aridity and disenchantment, it is between these two pendulums – the positive and the negative - that our lives are lived. We are all created equal, yet possess different strengths, weaknesses , and personalities….everyone unique, yet patterns under the chaos…fitting together as a massive puzzle, creating one of the most beautiful pictures on life’s canvas. Life offers a wide range of emotions and events; helping us to discover who we really are. Enjoy your achievements ….but most importantly cherish those close to you, these are your real possessions in the changing fortunes of time.

"The ultimate philosophy of striving for a global element of common purpose in an otherwise complex and fragmented world, is an awakening of the soul amid the mosaic of life. For me, life embraces a faith that influences every aspect of our lives. Like multi-colored threads woven in a vast tapestry – independent, yet part of the very weave that conceives it’s purpose. A thread of endless choices, opportunities and discoveries - of roads taken and ignored. The web of life is continually moving, changing shape, dimension, expanding and contracting – we experience of ourselves through a collective experience. At times we do not comprehend the full beauty and truth of the journey…preoccupied in private fears – consumed in our trepidation, and trapped by our worries. Unfamiliarity may seem frightening, and new paths a risk - but what is life, if not a journey into the wondrous unknown. Although temporarily hidden from our view, we are reminded that within each challenge there is always a higher offering. The only lock, keeping us trapped, blind or stuck, is fear. The only cage, our own minds. Like a painting not yet finished, or a poem awaiting its final line, true insight may seem at moments to delay itself in times of shadow. Sometimes we are left ruminating on the painful angst of complexities before the soothing brilliance of simplicity surfaces. Our understanding of life is based upon knowledge, faith, and experience. While perusing the contents, we ruminate… life itself is for the most part a matter of perception, a reflection of our inner-selves. Like a mirror, the world we see reflects all that is within us - a looking glass into our own conceptions. Life is a part of us, an expression of ourselves…. We should all strive to see the possibility and the potential enveloping each other…" - Sandy

"I have been encompassed by the realization that life is not only so short, but also holds a vast unpredictability. I now endow life with an intrinsic value... life has a plethora of mysterious and uncertain pathways, not one of which is accompanied with a guarantee. I have learned to become more expeditious, to love, care and show compassion to those who are traveling this journey with me. Life is like art, a canvas holding a superfluity of challenges, somewhat possessing an eminent similarity of raw materials... We take hold of the substance of life and try to invision the ebullience we can create from it...such energies as love, desire, inspiration, persistance, imagination, creativity and determination that will allow us to move forward in life and fulfill our goals, visions and dreams... I am fascinated with life and all it's wonders... I believe in God, and I believe in love; however, I know and have seen the power and reality of destruction and the power of hate... Yet, I believe in dreams and hopes without limited imagination. Playing and composing music gives me a temporary freedom to escape the perplexities of life and find refuge... allowing me to believe in my hopes and dreams. For me... music envelops an atmosphere of stillness and serenity and allows me to take the time to reflect on things that are most important to me.
